Homeless Melbourne Man Charged with Sending Threatening Texts  (WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT)

MELBOURNE, Fla --- JUNE 19, 2024

A homeless man from Melbourne is in jail tonight for sending threatening text messages to a property owner who just had trespassed him off the premises.

"I will make sure your fucking house gets burnt"

According to a sworn complaint, 48-year-old Christopher King was sending threatening text messages to a homeowner that had Mr. King trespassed.  Mr. King was upset that had been trespassed and no longer welcomed to the residence.

Police say the victim showed them several text messages that were threatening in nature.

The text messages were sent between April 28th and May 1st, according to the police report.

The suspect allegedly said that he will happily give the drug addicts in town his next 10 paychecks to beat the victim "within a half inch" of his life.

"I had a couple of them already set you fucking straight to fucking beat your old ass bloody just like a lawn mower"

"You better look over your shoulder because I am going to get ten (N WORDS) to beat your fucking ass", one text read.

Later, the suspect sent more texts saying, "I will make sure your fucking house gets burnt" and then, "Before I fucking die I will make sure your ass is in the fucking grave you piece of shit."

Authorities say Mr. King had the means to follow thru with his threats.

A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was apprehended on June 18th by the Brevard County Sheriff's office on State Road 192 and Pearl Street in West Melbourne.

He is being held at the Brevard County Jail on no bond and is awaiting trial.  His next court date is scheduled for a Docket Sounding on August 14, 2024, at 10:30am in Viera. The public defender was appointed for Mr. King, and he entered a plea of not guilty.
