Dear Chief Gillespie,

        Please commend Officer Castillo of the Traffic Unit for his professionalism during yesterday's traffic stop which occurred in front of my residence at 817 Ixora Drive.  A driver violated school zone speeds at Harbor City Elementary School on Sarno Road and the said violator did not pull over until Ixora and in front of my presence while I was home.  

I signaled to the motor officer that I had concerns regarding on-going reckless driving along Ixora and the immediate area. We had a polite, professional and meaningful discussion. Officer Castillo even allowed to me check out his motorcycle. 

Officer Castillo is the most exceptional officer I have ever encountered at the City of Melbourne Department of Police. He is approachable, professional, cares deeply about the community and shares the same concerns I have regarding aggressive driving in the area.  

Please continue to strictly enforce traffic laws in the neighborhoods and I thank you for keeping our community a safe and enjoyable place to live.
