19-Year-old Menace on Brevard Roadways Jailed After Reckless Driving in Palm Bay Without Headlights

- A 19-year-old was arrested by Palm Bay Police after driving at a reckless high rate of speed along Minton Road
- Cristhian Eduardo Herrera Balarezo, from Orlando, is also accused of driving along a median way in Merritt Island.
Police in Palm Bay has taken a reckless 19-year-old driver off the road ways. At least temporarily.
According to an arrest report, a police patrol was siting in the median of Minton Road, near Americana Blvd. doing traffic enforcement when the officer observed a White 2017 Audi traveling at a high rate of speed.
The speeding vehicle was clocked at 85 MPH in a posted 45 MPH zone, before accelerating to 90 MPH and weaving in and out of lanes and slamming on the breaks trying to get through law-abiding traffic along Minton Rd., according to the arrest avadavat.

The driver of the Audi turned off it's headlights in attempt to get away after the police activated their emergency lights. The suspect eventually lost control of the vehicle, drove over a sidewalk and through a ditch before eventually coming to a rest in a nearby field along Americana Blvd.
Police took 19-year-old Cristhian Eduardo Herrera Balarezo, from Orlando,into custody. While locked inside the Palm Bay holing cell, police say he tore paint off the wall, causing approximately $1,000 in damage.
He has been charged with reckless driving, speeding, driving without headlights, criminal mischief, failure to maintain lanes, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, driving on a sidewalk, and driving with a suspended license.
Balarezo was previously cited early this year by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office for driving on a median while passing other vehicles. He has since bonded out of jail on a $3,500 bond.
